Dr. Lerer received his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He then completed a medical internship at Lenox Hill Hospital and subsequently a Radiology residency at Montefiore Medical Center. He received the Milton Elkin outstanding graduating resident award and the 2004 RSNA roentgen resident/fellow research award. He completed a musculoskeletal radiology fellowship at Montefiore. During his training, Dr. Lerer was involved in extensive MRI research on medial meniscal extrusion. He subsequently became an assistant professor of radiology at Montefiore, working in the musculoskeletal and body divisions. Dr. Lerer has a significant experience in musculoskeletal MRI as well as other fields such virtual colonoscopy and PET/CT.
